TSMC to Hike Mature-Node Wafer Prices – First Adjustment in 3 Years

Release date:2026-07-15 Number of clicks:149

On July 15, TSMC reportedly notified clients of planned price increases for mature-node wafer foundry services, with differentiated hikes by process node, set to take effect in January 2027, according to Taiwan’s Economic Daily citing chip design sources.

While advanced-node pricing has been on a steady uptrend, TSMC’s mature-node pricing had remained stable for over three consecutive years. Industry sources note that other mature-node foundries have already begun raising prices since early 2026.

TSMC has previously stated that its mature-node strategy remains unchanged – continuously optimizing capacity mix, focusing on high-value, strategic applications, and ensuring sufficient capacity to support client growth.

From ICgoodFind: Mature nodes are no longer just "legacy" – they're tightening. Auto, industrial, and power chips are soaking up capacity, and TSMC joining the price hike wave confirms the cycle has turned.
